Hello,
I wanted to install Ubuntu with windows and in order to do that (since unetbootin didn't work for me) I have to access the bios. In the manual of my SVE151A11W, It is mentionned that in order to do that, I just need to press the assist button and wait. But when I do so, it just turns on my computer, nothing more.
I have windows 10 upgraded from windows 8.1 upgraded from windows 8.
Please help.

I recently upgrade my vpcf223fx from windows 7 to windows 8 the windows 8.1 and my problem is sound quality option is missing in vaio control center (that change the sound effect to s-force or home theater Dolby digital)
All other options like backlight keyboard or battery care are available.
I tried all possible efforts like add audio register patch from:

or reinstall vaio control or all software that vaio update recommends, but I failed to solve it please give me an exact solution Thanks.

I have a Sony Vaio duo 13 (SVD132190X) with Win 8.1 installed.
The current graphcis driver is 10.18.10.3355 provided by Sony.
When I attempt to start the graphics settings GUI it shows tha splash screen with "initialzing" going on but it fails to start and then the process stops.
I have run sfc /scannow which did not discover any issues.
I also tried replacing the sony provided driver with the generic intel driver - in that case the GUI initialized correctly! However, I experience video stuttering in powerpoint, which is not present with the sony provided driver (and it is essential for my job to not have this video stuttering issue).
Is there a newer update for the graphics driver provided by Sony (some people seem to have 3410) and how do I get it, since the support page for my model and the vaio update utility only get the 3355 version of the driver.

Hy im trying to install other os(like ubuntu) i my sony vaio svt and with all os i tried i have the same problem. In the screen that i can make the partition and choose in wich hard drive or ssd i want to install(i have one of each), there is nothing, like if i haven't any disk.
Someone know how to fix this?

Ps: suposing that in a future i can solve this. and i want only ubuntu leaving the particion where then i can make my pc like given of factory. i install ubuntu in the ssd? and leave the hard drive for data and other things?

I have a Sony VPCCA15FG. I have Windows 7 installed on the machine and I have been experiencing bouts of Blue screens, with an error of atikmpag.sys.
On my research I have stumbled across a graphics card issue. The system has an AMD driver and I found out that the problem is generally caused by Catalyst Control Center (CCC) software.
Even the video doesn't play smoothly and I am unable to open MS Office based applications.
I uninstalled the driver, I am able to open the MS Office applications but then lose the Aero effect and unable to open even the mini games.
Tried installing the updated Radeon 6300M software to no avail, as the problem persists.
So could anyone come to my rescue.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Do I need these duplicates and how should I deal with them?
I upgraded to Win10 from Win8.1 and recently upgraded to the new Win10 "feature set" version 1607. I now have seveal "recovery partitions" that are taking up a lot of disk space. I know that not all of these recovery partition are usable now. Can some of these recovery partitions be deleted and merged (I know how to do this). I am just not sure which one can be safely deleted. Any rule of thumb for this?? Just want to know. Thanks
Personal Safe - my fingerprint scanner has stopped working and I do not know my password. How do I get the scanner to work again or how do I find out my forgotten password (since I have used the scanner forever and do not remember what it is,)
Sony Vaio Laptop SVF14A15CXB, received an update from Sony which was a BIOS change, when it went to restart, it is now in constant restart mode, constantly click on/off no screen, won't go any further, pressing assist button does nothing, very upset, I hardly use this computer and now it won't work, was working fine before update. Can you help me, I feel the update did something to the firm ware, but cannot flash the bios to fix it.
I have a Tap 11 with an IR transmitter/blaster in it, which originally came with a "VAIO Remote Control" app which you could use to be a universal remote for TVs, etc.
Anyone know where to get this app? I can't find it anywhere.

Tengo problemas con el Audio no permite grabar el sonido interno de la laptop, en la opcion de sonidio, dispositivos de grabacion, debe tener la opcion oculta de Mezcla Estereo (Realtek High Definition Audio), pero esa opcion no me la da unicamnete me aparece el Microfono, como puedo instalarla o bajar un software para complementar la aplicacion
my vaio laptop doesn't have any vaio update after upgrade to windows 10. does this service stopped?

My webcam is not working, actually is not getting detected by the OS. I have installed elementary OS Version- Loki, somehow my webcam is not working. I think its because of absence of the module for the webcam but I m not sure about it. Could you please help me to fix this issue. I am seriously worried about it.

After clean install Window 7 Professional on my Sony Vaio SVF15322SG, the Fn keys is not working now (volumne keys is ok but not the touchpad, brightness, wifi and so on...)
I have tried to look on Support download page (http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/svf15322sg) but i can't find the right driver to make it work (even with Sony Shared Library, VAIO Control Center drivers of Window 8.1 Pro). FYI, the Vaio come with Window 8 when i bought it.

HI! I recovered my laptop yesterday, and I lost some programs of Sony. So I want to download vaio control center in my laptop again, but I only find updates. Where can I find the software? My model is: SVF14AC1QL or also known as SVF14A16CXS.
I have a Vaio Tap 21 (SVT21227CXB) with Windows 10. I need to reinstall the drivers for the wireless keyboard and mouse to try and resolve a serious issue (dialog boxes keep opening and closing and the cursor jumps all around). The first step is to reinstall the drivers and see if that resolves the issue. Then I have other things to try. But I can't seem to find where to get the proper drivers. Any help would be appreciated.
