Sony Vaio i3 4gb ram clean install Wndows 8.1 need to install extra devices (Assist & Vaio Button; Bluetooth, Fingerprint)

Good Day,

I was given a laptop by some friends, I am english and the laptop came from the Netherlands, being in Dutch I needed to install another OS. I decided to get Windows 8.1 and as soon as I received it I realized there was malware that had damaged the OS. Therefore doing a clean install. Now my laptop isn't recognising the two action keys: Assist and Vaio; as well as the fingerprint reader.

Please can you assist me with a site or a download so I can get my laptop running at its full potential. Another thing I cannot download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 which means some games don't work. It gives an unknown error and doesn't have a problem installing 2010 / 2012 or 2013. The games give the following error:

api-ms-win-runtime-l1-1-0-dll or missing another dll file which is linked to Visual 2015 C++

Please help! I have gone on numerous sites, youtube, etc. to no avail.

Thanks,

Rudi

Strange problem in WiFi in VPCEH3AEN

Hi

I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio laptop VPCEH3AEN to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. There is a strange problem with WiFi.

1) I saved my WiFi password and activated "Connect automatically this network"

2) Restarted my system but it did not connect

3) Opened the hotspot on my Mobile using Mobile Network

4) Connected the Laptop with Hotspot and it connected

5) Disconnected the hotspot connection and now it automatically connected to WiFi router.

6) Again restarted my system but did not connect to WiFi till the time I repeated steps 3 to 5. That is, connect to hotspot first, disconnect it and voila, WiFi will be connected.

Can you please suggest the solution to this problem as I want the WiFi to be connected automatically everytime without performing above steps3 to 5.

Sony VAIO VGN-NR498E Will Not Boot from CD

Hello. I'm having trouble booting my Sony laptop from my CD. I already searched online for answers but they haven't helped. I'm attempting to run a Windows Vista installation disk on my laptop and I need it to boot from that disk. I am not sure how to get that to work though. In my Boot menu, I'm searching for which item to set as first in boot priority. I have no listed CD/ROM option, but I do have internal optical drive. Is that the option I need to use? If so, I already tried that but my laptop will boot to a screen that says "Operating System not found". What can I do?
I read on another forum that you could use the ASSIST button on a VAIO laptop to set up legacy boot and then the disk would work, but my laptop model doesn't have the ASSIST button. Is there a way to get into legacy boot settings via another way? Thanks.

ESupport's Realtek Driver Missing Realtek HD Audio Manager

After having to pay someone to remove clunking Windows Vista and install Windows 7, my VGN-CR590’s still running fast enough for most web-based tasks. And as it also has a fairly new system drive and 4GB memory, I will eventually be using it to run room equalizing software, such as Room EQ Wizard and Acourate.

To get my feet wet are these excellent primers for REW.

http://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/room-measurement-tutorial-for-dummies-part-1.4/ and  http://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/room-measurement-tutorial-for-dummies-part-2.5/ Before buying the right mic and preamp, I can learn how to make some informative measurements by using the laptop’s internal mic. But every Windows 7 audio recording dialog box was no help in raising the mic’s record gain high enough beyond the system noise level. Using Windows recorder, the only thing audible in the recorded file was when I rapped on the laptop’s chassis. Even when switching to an external mic I was barely able to hear my voice.

Checking the CR590’s spec sheet and manual, as it includes a Realtek audio chip some kind of Realtek software utility was clearly missing. Going here https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNCR590&upd_id=5022&os_group_id=5

I found the Realtek audio driver for Windows 7 32 bit download. But after installing it I found it without any such unity, which I later learned is the Realtek HD Audio Manager-and which should solve the internal and external microphone’s low record gain problem, as revealed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNULfk2yCqc and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RelmsDtRkvM

As my CR590 laptop has long since been discontinued, it’s anyone guess how long it will take for this important download to be posted at Sony support. So I emailed Realtek weeks ago, but no reply. And the U.S. Realtek rep said only to contact Sony. I tried looking for what I need here

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false but HD Audio Manager is apparently not available for Windows 7 as a download apart from the driver. And I’d still wouldn’t know exactly which of these to download, if any.

I will email Sony support about the missing utility. Meanwhile, I’d greatly appreciate any assistance in finding where else this software may be available.

Thank you.

What does VAIOTm and VTUsr mean?

Since I installing both VAIO and WIN 8.1 update files I've been seeing some strange happenings upon restart mainly but other times also. At the top of my desktop screen appears a black strip about half an inch by one and a half. In the task bar there appears a statement that says VTUsr running. Eventually the notices fade away when it is unable to open.
Should I be concerned with this issue?

An unexpected I/O Error

I have a really old Sony Viao. I think it had vista (but cant remember now). Two years ago when I tried to eject a CD, it did not. I forcefully removed the CD. I kept the computer for a long time without even touching. Now I wanted to recover some data (kids pictures), I receive following error.

When I boot up the computer, I see blinking cursor with blank screen.

Later following message is displayed in the screen:

File \Boot\BCD:

Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: An unexpected I/O Error

Sony Viao: VGN-NS240E

Any thoughts if I could get data recovered?
