I saw a question about this posted in mid-March of 2017, but there was no answer.

 

A few weeks ago, when I start my Sony Vaio PC running Windows 10 Pro Version 1703, most of the time I get a small, black-filled, window in the upper-right section of my window and a small, green box on my taskbar indicating a utility (I think). It advises me that "VAIOTm is not responding." 

 

It will go away in 20 or 30 seconds and hasn't seemed to cause any problems, but I just wonder if it's indicating some kind of problem.

Issue with reinstallation of VAIO Update

I am receiving the following error message on my VPCCW16FG, "VAIO Update needs to be reinstalled because a problem has been found".  When I click on reinstall I then get the message "Reinstallation of VAIO Update failed.  VAIO Update may no longer start properly".  Using Windows 7 SP1, 64bit. Does anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks.

VAIO CARE RESCUE recovery error code 305

I have a Vaio laptop #VPCEA36FM

Every time we run recovery wizard after completion of around 16-18% it shows error 305 and says that the Recovery Media is damaged or corrupted .Please give me the solution anyone.

VAIO VGN-Z unable to install Sony camera driver software

I recenlty acquired a VGN-Z790 laptop and I reinstalled windows 7 64bit. Initially all drivers seem to install fine but later realized my internal microphone doesnt show up at all. The only device I have in recording devices is the external plugin microphone. I did enable to show up disabled devices as well. After looking over the net, it seems like the internal microphone is tied to camera drivers. Then I looked at the installed driver for the camera and it shows as USB Video Device (Sony VIsual COmmunication Camera in Device manager) and the provider of the driver is Microsoft and not Sony. So, I tried to reinstall the camera companison software form the Sony supposrt website and it always shows a message saying whether to install with compatibility settings. Either way, at the end it doesnt install. Tried to see if I can install the driver manually, but couldnt locate where this installer is copying the drivers.

 

At this point the only option is to have windows load automatically which will be microsoft driver and doesnt have support for my internal microphone.

 

Any suggestions?

I pupgrade to Window 10 does not work properly then revert back to window 8.1 but then the touch screen does not work

when I go to control panel,  hardware and device, there is no Touch Tab

 

Any advise?

Ok, here goes...

I've got a sony vaio pcg-6q1l year 2006 with Vista Biz OS....

It was given to me and hasn't been used in a few years but after cleaning up and off data that I didn't want and it a

well functioning laptop.

Problem: I'm trying to do updates  such as SP2 but when I do, I get a screen back telling me that I must have SP1 installed...

I do...I've done it three times and even shows it's installed with my Updates.

I have auto updates turned on but no good because I keep getting update alerts for installing SP1...

What the heck is going on?

Should I delete all the SP1's that show up on the updates listing and then install the SP1 from the Update notice

I keep getting???

I know there is no support for Vista any longer but who cares as long a the OS/laptop is working great?

I definitely DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE TO WIN 10, PERIOD!

SOOoooo...what to do...any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! >Smiley Happy

downloading drivers for win 7, for mouse pad and web cam

Hello

I want to download drivers for windows 7, for my laptop model: VGN-SR390.

Its webcam and also mouse pad (its right side, up-down scrolling does not work on documents like Word,..) does not work after windows installation.

VAIO VGN-FE41E Mousepad Stopped Working

Hello
I have the above model of VAIO laptop.
I haven't used it in a few months and tried using it for the first time but the mouse pad won't work. The cursor is visible but cannot move it around.
I've looked online and the solutions I've seen haven't worked
Any help would be much appreciated

VAIO VPCEB33FM VAIO Media plus problem

I've lost track of the original problem, but this is where I am now with it:

 

1) Attempting to re-install VAIO Media plus using VAIO Care results in the progress bar extending to 35%, then the message displayed is "The following program did not install correctly: VAIO Media plus. If the program has already been installed, please try installing it again after uninstalling it from [ Uninstall or change a program ] in the Control Panel."

 

BTW, it is no longer installed, and I got the message attempting a re-install.

 

2) Upon every re-boot, VAIO Media plus continues to attempt to re-install itself. The failing message displayed is "Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

 

I can click the Cancel button on this attempted re-install, and the pop-up goes away.

 

Thanks in advance for any insight or workarounds you can provide.

Hello, I have followed the Viao Assist process to restore my laptop but am presented with either 'Operating system not installed' after a restart or 'Recovering just stops at 6%. Error message 1. How can I restore to factory settings?

I just pulled this out of the closet and got it running again after a few years of just not needing it and needing to buy a new cord and battery. So it’s still running Vista.
Can I upgrade this at all to either windows 7 or 10? I’m reading different answers when I google it.

XP 32 Bit AHCI on SVE1512H6E F6-floppy

Hallo,

Im looking for the correct AHCI chipset driver to inject them during XP F6 install.

Right now all tries failed. As soon as XP enters the hard disk selection, the installation fails and laptop shuts down.

Just tried 7series, ICH5 9 and 10, Mobile Express drivers from intel f6-floppy.

Where can i find the right one for the laptop?

Immediately MS Word 2013 was closed without a reason. I reopened .docx and got - Word cannot open the document: user does not have access privileges. Is there an opportunity to get back my data in couple of days?

Vaio VPCEB26FA doesnt boot properly

Sometimes, when i press the power on button the screen lights up and the num lock led  lights up

But no vaio splash it just continues with a blank screen. 

You can light the capslock the numlock and screenlock

But the the numlock always lights on start. 

For some reason, the laptop works if i leave it completely 

Disconnected from power for a day or so. 

But after a while it goes back to the state. 

I tried replacing the ram but to no avail,  removed one and kept one,  still nothing. 

I even tried removing the cmos battery for 2 mins. Also nothing.

Please help. 

The vaio is model PCG-71211W

I'm not a very guru in emails. But one of my friends on work has an issue with messages. She is using MS Outlook 2016. Hers letters were disappeared from Inbox. We don't know what to undertake.
