When I plug my Vaio in, the battery icon in the tray states 0% available (plugged in, charging). But it does not charge. It hasn't moved above 0% in a week.
VAIO control center shows the battery health as Excellent.
This seemed to happen all of a sudden. I hadn't had any battery issues before this began occurring.
Seems like a new battery isn't the solution. What's the issue?

I have a 6-7 year old Sony Vaio - Model PCG-7153L.
When I try and start the computer, it will boot up normally and then without notice (after 30 seconds to 2 minutes) it will die. No blue screen, just dead. I've replaced the batter and power cord and that doesn't seem to be the issue.
When I run it on safe mode, it will last a little longer than the 30 seconds - 2 minutes, typically around 4 minutes before it also dies unexpectedly. I've also put a fan underneath the computer and that has helped it as well.
Which leads me to believe there's an issue with my computer fan or something that's preventing the computer from overheating and shutting off.
I tried sending the computer to Geek Squad and they told me the computer is too old and the vendor no longer has parts for this computer/model.
My goal is to salvage the files on the computer and move on. I have a Mac computer now and would like to get the files off the Sony Vaio and onto the Mac.
My question is: Is this something Sony can help me resolve/fix? Or is it too old to do that? If it is something that can likely be resolved, how much will it cost?

I bought a VAIO Fit 14E in April 2015. It was working fine then but from las February it had many technical issues so I REFRESHED the PC from the settings menu. My Vaio Care and Vaio Control Center were deleted. I tried to find the installation package but couldn't find it. I really need Vaio Care and Vaio Control Center. Please help.

I am aware this is a pretty old computer and I'm still using Vista on it (LOL), but I've been trying to reinstall the Control Center on it. However, every single time I tried, I got the error stating that I have the wrong model even though I know for a fact I have the correct model. It says "VGN-FZ430E" on my computer at the lower right corner so I know that's the model number. I specifically entered that number into the site and used THAT download, and it told me I had the wrong model. What the heck is up with that? The exact error is something like "this download is not intended to be used with this model", which is the same thing as "wrong model". How does this get fixed, or can I simply not install the Control Center on this anymore? I am planning on installing Windows 7 shortly (also an out of date system, but I will NEVER use WIndows 10), if that will help any.
VPCSA490x with Win 7 Home Pro 64. Been having a lot of issues with battery charging lately. Been using a replacement battery from Battery Tec, it was OK but lower capacity, I probably wans't excercising it as much as I should. So I got a new battery, this battery is great, but now I get the Vaio popup saying battery is critical... I'm guessing this particular battery isn't registering correctly with Vaio Control Center...? But when I check my list of installed programs to uninstall it, Control Center won't show up, on Win Control Panel or even using Revo. Granted, I'd uninstalled various Sony bloatware in the past, and also recently uninstalled Sony's latest Vaio Care Update (in an effort to figure out what my battery issue was, since my issues began shortly after installing that).
I can't have this popping up all the time, i use the laptop in live music, making the laptop worthless. So right now I just need to uninstall Vaio Control Center. The battery thing is a bigger issue that I'm trying to solve, but that's another story (please see below if you may have a solution).
I did searches to reinstall Control center, so I could maybe then get it to register so i could uninstall, but can't find a Win 7 version, only win 8.

PS My bigger issue, my battery problem, is hard to pin down. Sometimes it is losing charge, even though it's "plugged in and charging" and will run down to 0% if I let it (which I don't). I've tried all the solutions I can find, did battery reset (pull battery hold power button etc.) which always fixes it for a while, but then the problem returns. Did the paper clip into the battery reset hole near the battery compartment, no change. Tried different adaptors, tested, all good. BIOS up to date (well, Sony only has 1 update, in 2013, thanks a lot for "supporting" your products). Read everything I could find, no change. I'm a little concerned my motherboard charging module may be going, but I want to eliminate all the other possible fixes before I dump more money into this. Any help is truly aprpeciated!

Could somebody please help me find the driver for the BD-CMB UJ141AS optical drive in my Sony VAIO VPCF116FX laptop running Windows 7 x64? The drive won't read or write. And I blew away the factory restore partition years ago.
I purchased the laptop in the year 2010 and the driver I need is no longer available for download on Sony's website.
The website now only has the driver for the Pioneer optical drive that comes with newer editions of that laptop model.
I have searched everywhere online but can not find this driver anywhere. But I know it used to exist on the Sony website years ago.
Could you please let me know where to find it, or if you have that same drive in your VAIO, could you send me a copy of the driver for it?

I have been facing problems with my Vaio SVD11215CXB. Since I done an updated to windows 10 I cannot found more the option to control the fan speed in Vaio Control Center. Someone already faced this problem?
I don`t know if its because there is an unknown device in my computer “ACPI\SNYA008\4&39F10369&0”. When I play games in to my computer the FPS goes down because the temperature. I`m sure if I control the fan speed this problem will fix.
No response tlo double click on setup.exe for an external hard drive. Works okay on other computer

I had to reload Windows 7 onto a friend's Vaio laptop. I need to reinstall the drivers now. When I use esupport.sony.com to download the drivers, it asks for a model number. On the back of the laptop, it says the model is PCG-4121GL. The website says this is a generic model number and I need to be more specific. I'm given a list of about 20 to choose from. I have no idea how to proceed with that. Any suggestions? I'm assuming if I could get an effective wifi driver, I could use blind force to fill in the remaining blanks but I don't know where to begin.

My SONY VAIO DUO11 screen started yesterday to be black, when the AC power is plugged in.
If I unplug the AC power, the screen comes and I can work normally.
