To start with my system is the model shown above has an intel I7 with 12 GB ram and 2 GB nvidia graphics card its supposed to be 3d but that never really worked out either. my system was deliverd 3 days after window 8 came out but still had windows 7 home installed. I made backup systems discs (2 different sets) and set them aside for later and updated to window 8. Everything worked fine until Windows 10, and even that worked fine until they did an update back around March or so it was the big one. My system would boot but all I would get is a black screen. If I booted in safe mode it worked fine, if I reset it back to the windows basic (2006) driver it worked fine, Any attempt to update the driver either from Sony or Nvidia caused the black screen again. I finally had enough and tried to return to the original OS that came with the system. Of course the little assist button on the side of the PC did squat. So I break out the back up discs and of course both sets failed on disc two. Calling the sony customer service to order the software did no good because they no longer stock or sell that OS. My system is too old for them to worry about. I thought that perhaps there was something with the windows 10 install I had done that might be interferring with the graphics driver. so I went in reformatted took out partitions that had been made from previous installs and then reformatted again. (I am a retired comuter technician and computer security specialist for DoD) I know how to do this and trouble shoot which makes this all the more aggravating. Worst of all I get no error codes or messages. Can anyone help? OR perhaps tell me where I can find the original software to restore? Sony certainly doesnt care

Sony VAIO Update - VAIO Care 8.4.6
Hi community!
I hope you all are OK!
I'm trying to UPDATE (through VAIO Update and directly downloading the EXE EP0000500044 from Sony Support site and running it) the Vaio Care Software to the new version 8.4.6.05116, but both methods are failing!
The version installed and running on my Vaio today is 8.4.5.06026! (Windows 10 / 64 bits)
The problem is:
The installation begins but on "Prepare to remove previous versions..." phase, the dialog box simply desappear and nothing happens! =(
Any ideas or suggestions?!?
Thanks all in advance! BEST!
Some Pre-Installed software's vanished after resetting my Laptop.
Hi,
I purchaced my laptop on 2013, still it's going well. It comes with Windows 8 Single Language and lots of preinstalled software's. And I upgraded it to Windows 10 Single Language when it released. Now the actual problem is few days back I reset my laptop. After completing reset process Windows 10 starts as fresh, but my preinstalled bundle pack is vanished. The pack includes ACID™ Music Studio 9, DVD Architect™ Studio 5.0, Movie Studio Platinum 12, Sound Forge™ and Audio Studio 10. There is no folders remains about this softwares on my drives.
I searched this problem on Internet and it leads me to this link
https://esupport.sony.com/swu/8178/US/
But my model doesn't support that software. Please help me to get back my softwares. Which is more helpful to me.
Thanks in Advance.

Vaio mic not working
Hi,
my vaio (VPCEH28FG) internal mic just stopped working a few days ago out of the blue. It was still working fine just a short amount of time back. Currently it produces constant static noise but does not pick up anything else, except when i hit it. My mic is enabled in the sound settings and it is not muted. I also reinstalled and updated the audio driver (Conexant) to no avail. I saw online that the mic could be connected to the webcam and i reinstalled the camera driver and suprisingly it did work again for 1 start up. I have not been able to replicate that success since. I also tried to rollback any updates as there was a windows update and i thought it may be the culprit but it either is not or i didnt roll it back far enough.
Is there any other solutions that I could try? Would an alternative driver e.g. Realtek cause any worse issues? Or could this be a hardware issue? Thanks!

Recover Operating System Sony Vaio VPCEH23FD
My Laptop HDD is corrupted and must be replaced. I need to install the operating system on a new HDD. Note the operating system as originally windows 7 but we had upgraded it to 10.
The laptop fails to boot and damage to the HD in the user partition seems to interfere with access to the system recovery partition. I cannot get access to the system recovery partition through either F10 or the Sony assist button (from cold start). All I get is a black screen. The recovery partition shows up normally under properties and disk management when I remove the disk put it in an enclosure and read from a separate PC. I have been able to recover a small amount of data from the user partition with recovery software. I can make a copy of the system recovery partition and have burned this to disk using freeware (EASEUS todo).
I cannot download/reinstall the operating system from Microsoft with the product key code because it is only supported by Sony. Can you advise as to recovery procedure without a set of recovery media disks and apparently without access to the recovery partition?
Drivers not installing
Greetings to all,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SR36GN with Windows Vista OS. Unfortunately my hard drive crashed. Bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 instead. My difficutly is on installing the drivers. Based on the support page their is a certain order by which to install the drivers. But everytime I install the first one - GRAPHICS driver, its not going through completeley.
After executing the EXE file I would see the VAIO Package Manager window stating that its extracting the files. A DOS windows would show up next trying to execute ATIsetup.exe. But after a few seconds the DOS window would close and nothing follows. I checked the Device Manager and my display adapter still uses the driver from Microsoft.
I have tried to do Run As Administrator but still the driver wont go through.
Thank you in advance!

Reset back to factory settings or clean install of windows 7
I have never in my life had such a hard time resetting to factory settings or doing a clean install on a computer! I'm working on my friend's Sony Vaio laptop comptuer. I can't stand the vaio software! His computer was about to crash when he brought it to me. Low and behold, he had downloaded ****** which in return brought the std's of the technology world with it. I removed 2,912 threats and viruses from the computer. I then removed programs and files that weren't needed. That sped up the computer tremendously. I then did disk clean up and disk defragmenter. At that point, the performance of the computer went from 5% to 75%. It was still a little slow starting up programs, would get stuck on windows updates, and would get the "not responding" error message. After having windows 10, I can honestly say I don't miss the windows 7. I have spent the last 30 hours straight working on this thing. I finally got mad and contacted microsoft support and was in a chat conversation with 3 different agents over 4 hours. We all finally agreed that a clean install of the windows 7 OS would be the best bet. I wanted to do that from the start. I knew that's what it needed. It is possible to do a reset without the disk but it's a lot of hard work. Apparently I took the long way around when it came to downloading the ISO. I went through a bittorrent client. I didn't bootleg. I actually used the ISO microsoft was going to get for me. I had already downloaded it. I will say, for a beginner walking into that process, It was very complicated and hard to understand and I wouldn't recommend it unless you are very tech savy. The agent helped me with a download tool to create an ISO to USB boot. By the time we disconnected, I felt somewhat confident but not really. lol. Well, when it came time to boot the usb ISO, I followed her instructions and still couldn't get it. I then learned of the "Assist" Vaio rescue menu. That is where I found the ****** reset to factory settings. All the downloading of the ISO and the time researching how to do it...was absolutely USELESS! No matter what I tried or how many sets of instructions I followed to do the clean install, this computer would just not let me do it. So here I set now watching this ****** thing reset to factory settings. I'm hoping this does the trick. If not, it's back to square one and I quit for a while. I think the Vaio systems are absolutely the worst thing that could have ever been put on a computer! It made things so much more complicated than it needed to be! I'm tired, my back and sides are killing me from being in my desk chair for 30 hours, and my head is pounding from all the research and staring I've been doing at computer screens. My suggestion, go with a cheap computer. They work just as well! You don't need all the fancy bells and whistles, you just need an up to date operating system! If you need help, I can definitely give it to you when it comes to resetting back to factory settings.
Launch Startup Repair Failure
Hi Sony,
My laptop is a SONY VAIO F-SERIES, got switched off as it is ranout of charge. I plugged in the charger and started. I can see two options on screen.
1) Launch start up repair(recommended)
2) Start windows normally.
I selected option 1. I can see a white wall paper with flowers and I can move the cursor. I left it for 24 hrs. I could not see my system restarted.
Next day I turned it off and same options appeared. Now slected option 2 and it is directed to the same screen with 2 options.
How I can I proceed further. I dont want to buy another laptop. If I buy it should be eithr SONY or VAIO.
Thanks and Regards,

Sony Viao Laptop touchpad and keyboard only work in screens before windows loads (pressing F8 at starts)
I have a Sony Viao SVS151A11L running window 7 Home Premium where the touchpad and Keyboard only work in screens before windows loads (pressing F8 at starts).
I have tried starting in safe mode and once windows loads, the keyboard and touchpad stop responding. Function, brightness, backlighting for the keyboard and a few other keys work, but most do not.
I have done a system restore to a time that it worked and still have the issue.
I have run startup repair and windows memory diagnostics with no results.
External mice and keyboards give no different results.
No new hardware or software was installed or removed.
What could be causing this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

SVT11213CXB Windows 10 Sony battery condition indictor error?
Vaio SVT11213CXB states battery 100% However, Sony battery status states battery critical; status was excellent three days ago. Computer won't run unless plugged in. Running windows 10. I think that somehow I need to reset the Sony battery level status indicator, as I can't believe the battery condition could go from excellent to critical in two days, especially as battery is listed as charged to 100 percent if I examine it through windows 10 settings. Thank you in advance
