Unfortunately, after 3 years of good service, my Vaio won't boot.
The black screen with 'Vaio" loads, but it goes no further.
After awhile, it either goes to a black screen, to VAIO care, or a blue screen with error code 0xc000000f.
While in VAIO Care, I am able to click on 'Start troubleshooting (Recovery)', but all that does, is take me back to a black screen to repeat the process, eventually. I am not able to access any troubleshooting options or solutions.
Prior to the failure, it had been running windows 10 without incident.
I'm not ready to give up yet and would appreciate any help or advice to get it operational again.
Thanks

I have a Sony Vaio SVT21217CXB. The mouse keeps jumping to the top right side of the screen and trys to close all my windows. This occurs no matter what browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome) or program (Word, etc) that I use. I have put fresh batteries in the mosue and even change the mouse for another, same issues. I have run virus scans, verified the latest drivers are installed. I don't have a touchpad on my system, so I can't balme that. Has anyone elese had this problem? Anyone have any suggestions to correct this? Thanks.
Hello, guys.
So... I brought home a friend's notebook to fix, but after a while not understanding the problem, I decided to search for an answer.
He told me that the problem was that the notebook wouldn't power up.
It is powering up just fine, the outside lights are blinking and all. The display is completely black, though.
I've cleaned the inside of the computer, and have already tried the "30-1-2" thing.
Again, after a while looking for answers, I've read somewhere that some guy said to light a flashlight at the screen to see if the display was really off, or just insanely dark. I've tried it, and the good news is that the display is not completely off. It's just too dim.
Is there any way I can fix this without changing hardware, or do I have to change the display?
HELP ME, PLEASE!

Greetings,
My Vaio SVF152C29L came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Naturally this required that it comes with a number of partitions on the disk.
Seeing as how Windows 10 isn't running as smoothly as I'd like it to, I plan to upgrade to a Linux distribution shortly after graduating from my university.
The problem then becomes that I am now aware of these partitions; particularly the OEM, EFI, and system reserved partitions.
My requirement before upgrading is being able to reinstall my copy of Windows again at a later date (which I assume required either the OEM or reserved partition).
Another requirement would be to maintain the Assist functionality, even if I can't access it once I install Linux.
With that in mind, wouldn't it make sense to leave those partition en tact once I decide to install Linux?
To clarify: I do not plan to dual boot or install multiple operating system on my Laptop. I just want to be able to have assurance that once I install Linux, and if I ever need to, I can reinstall Windows via the partition that came shipped with my laptop.
The reason I am asking for this particular setup is because I'm aware that my product/license information is on one of the partitions.
I also want to assure that if I ever decide to reinstall or restore Windows on my laptop, that the Assist function maintains availability/functionality.
Should I leave those partitions alone when installing Linux or does it not matter for my purposes?
TIA

My Sony Vaio model number SVE15137CNB - came with Windows 8.1 - Unfortunately I have not created a recovery media and as my OS got corrupted, I couldn't boot the laptop and have to format it.
As I have not created the recovery media, I need the ISO of the OS I have on my laptop ealier which is Windows 8.1 Single Language (x64) - 64 bit. Is that OS available for download from somewhere - I tried in Microsoft website - but it is not available there.
Could Sony or someone provide the ISO file.

I am unable to find the driver of my sony vaio laptop of Product name. SVE14133CNB. Please help me.
Thank You.
