keyboard backlight on SVE1513CYNB

I bought this computer a while ago but it was my mom who was using it till now but I recently have a hold of it and I can't seem to find any kind of vaio drivers installed in it niether do I any feature to control the Backlight keyboard in this laptop the version of Sony I have is SVE1513CYNB.

 

One thing I would like to note is that I read somewhere that this laptop comes with a linux OS but when my mom first opened the PC it was loading Windows 8 (64 bit ) inside of it also there were no windows driver even then also my laptop now runs the latest version of Windows 10 (32 bit) in it!

My sony vaio flip svf14n11cxb is stuck at restart screen after I restarted it and it has been almost an hour and it wont go further..can anybody help me????its so frustrating I just bought it a few days back and it is making me think either it was a bad idea cause windows 8 is ****** hard to operate in first use

Hello and a Happy New Year,

 

I need some help with the BIOS on my Vaio Laptop.  I want to upgrade my harddrive, I have a new 1TB drive that is formatted and ready to go. I also want to do a clean instal of Windows 7 Home Premium.

 

Can someone PLEASE explain to me in easy terms how I access the BIOS so I can change the boot order to include an external CD with a Windows & installation disk??

I looked in the BIOS settings, but there's no specific option for the same there.

Low processing speed

Hello I am using sony vaio model: VPCEB34EN, i3 processor, 3GB RAM. A year ago my system crashed and got repaired in Sony service centre. Afterwards my system hangs after installing necessary apps like firefox,chrome and I have to restart by long pressing power button. This again causes crashing of OS again and needs repairing. I have changed OS 3 times but the problem continues. Is this problem in the RAM..? Has its capacity detoriated over time...? I purchased in 2010.

Please guide me over this.....

Hi, my hard drive died on my Vaio PCG-71312L and I want to replace it, but I don't have a recovery disc for Windows 7 Home Premium, which was pre-installed on the laptop. I have the product key and I understand from Microsoft that Sony must provide a way of reinstalling the Operating System. How can I get a copy of this? Neither of the Sony approved suppliers sell the recovery discs as far as I can tell. 

 

Surely I shouldn't have to rebuy windows, just because I am replacing a dead hard drive!!??

when I press it opens windows like power button.

Dear Experts,

 

I have an old Sony VAIO VGN-FS980 ,  which i want to use it as an secondary laptop at my home.

 

It has current Operating system - Windows XP where i want to upgrade to either Windows 8 or Windows 10.

 

After downloading Windows 8 or Windows 10 from Microsoft, I couldnt install by accessing the setup.exe program. I  tried to burn the downloaded ISO file to DVD & make it as a bootable but DVD-RW Drive which exists in the laptop is not working.

 

Have tried making bootable USB flash drive but at the bios boot menu couldnt see boot option with flash drive or USB.

 

Any options to install would highly appreciated .

Hi,

 I have recently reinstalled my OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) and the issue is after the drivers were installed I am not able to turn the wifi on using the Vaio Smart Network. Kindly do help me out.

Hi, I currently have a Vaio series laptop that I updated from windows 7 to 8.1 then to windows 10 via Microsofts free upgrade program. My laptop is working fine, however I'd like to reinstall windows 10, possibly upgrading the harddrive to an ssd as well. I want to do a clean install without the preinstalled bloatware that came with the laptop. Does anyone know if i can reuse the activation key that originally came with the laptop to do a clean windows 10 install? Any info would be appreciated.

i have vaio e series sony laptop model  SVE14132CXW

 

 

 

i had to reset my hd and when i went to reinstall my imagination software from  the recovery disk it was corrupt.

one would think that sony would provide this on their site as all others do.

good machine but the support needs repair!

need movie studio,sound forge & acid and what ever else was on it when i purchased.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Batteries not Detected/Charging, Missing Battery Driver?

My laptop suddenly stopped being able to detect the batteries (internal and sheet) while plugged in to the outlet. When unplugged, the laptop can see both batteries. It was working fine the day before. Both batteries' statuses were 'excellent'.

 

I tried deleting/renaming the ISB utility (https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31952/p/48903,49902,52604,52618/c/65,66/kw/battery%20not%20detected).

I also updated the two batteries (Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft Composite Battery) in the Device Manager.

Hi Friends,

 

Unfortuately one day my sony vaio having udated Windows 10 OS crashed and it never recovered atleast to the base Win 8 OS. I always got could not find OS. Unfortunately i lost my OS CD'S given during purchase also, i have exhausted all options and after defragmentation i have lost the whole of sony functionality. Is ther anyway i can get the original boot up OS.. I have my email bills with me.

Sata connection on Vaio svs15.

Dear all,
I have a laptop Vaio svs15. I bought a ssd samsung 850 pro 120gb instead of HDD. But i found that, ssd runs with sata 2 speed. I have being read few theards, they said cause due to BIOS.
So, what version of Bios may o use in order to enable Sata 3? My laptop is Vaio svs15115fxb.
